Alice In Wonderland
I was more than a little concerned that anything replacing Avatar would suffer by comparison. I had thoughts of a high school football team being asked to play a demonstration game against the Minnesota Vikings. How does anyone follow the biggest grossing movie of all time?

Well it turns out if you follow up with another good movie, everything will be ok. And Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is just that. A good movie. Perhaps it succeeds by being a visual spectacle of a slightly different nature. To follow Avatar, Alice needed to be visually amazing. Yet different enough to not draw too many comparisons.

Alice is different. Weird and whimsical. Its the kind of story line Tim Burton was born to work on. Lots and lots of bizarre characters. Off beat magical settings. An odd mix of dark comedy with classic fai...

Dick Cheney’s Socialized Medicine Heart
Ex-Vice President Dick Cheney was hospitalized...again... For heart problems. I drew a cartoon last week that I think perfectly captured the essence of the hypocrisy.  Cheney enjoys government run, tax payer paid health care. The same kind of health care he tells the rest of us is a Democratic socialist plot run by death panels.  Oh it keeps him alive... Hell it has saved his life numerous times... But its not the right answer for the rest of us.

Its this sort of open obvious hypocrisy that drives me crazy about this health care debate.

Its all about the money.

Toyota
I love Toyotas. Did the company screw up in a big way recently? Sure. But here’s what I know about this company;

A few years back Toyota made a sort of odd looking mini van. It was mostly glass and looked a little like the Walt Disney World Monorail engine.  I had a friend who had one. It was incredibly comfortable and smooth riding. Visibility was amazing.  But when it turned out this van did not hold up very well in a crash, Toyota removed the model, went back to the drawing board, and introduced a replacement that ended up being rated the safest vehicle in crash tests you could buy.

Thats why I think Toyota is going to recover just fine from this mess. I own a Toyota built Scion TC and I could not be happier with it.
