Global Warming Myth
Rush and the FOX news boys would like you to believe that the recent bad wintery weather in New York, Washington and parts of the South is proof positve that Al Gore's theory of global warming is now proven wrong. Nothing more to debate. Global Warming is a myth.
So the fact that it snowed in February, in wintertime, is somehow proof that Global Warming is wrong? Isnt it supposed to be cold and snowy in the winter. And yeh it happens... even in the south once in a while. Thats just normal. But by the same logic, they seem content to ignore that its been unusually warm and not wintery in normally very wintery Vancouver this year. Its on televison every night if you are watching the Olympics. Man made snow and refrigeration are keeping the events going but aside from that, its been strangely WARM there. But they are not talking about that.
Maybe it would help if the Conservative talking heads would take a moment to actually understand what Global Warming and Global Change really means. It means that the average temps are indeed rising which is causing weather extremes. And that's precisely what we are seeing globally.

The weather in Vancouver is very typical for this time of year. It is right on the Ocean and to have rain in February is not in the least strange. The fact that the Olympic Committee chose this location comes into question, if the weather has been that much of a hassle. There have been a couple of events postponed for a day due to foggy weather, nothing unusual for a mountian area along the ocean. As far as the whole golbal warming thing, I personally think Al Gore is full of hooey. It is purely human arrogance to think that we can destroy the climate to am extent. The fact that US is not at the focal point of emissions at this point in time is something of more concern to me than the temp. China and India are doing far more to increase emissions than the US is. According to the Mayans, it is all going to end in December of 2012 anyway so, go ahead and drive your car and don't worry about it. Oh, the whole idea of buying carbon credits is a joke, a very good one too, very funny.
